I look forward to hearing from you and the opportunity to show you that my massage can be the BEST MASSAGE IN PENSACOLA for you.
Perhaps it sounds arrogant to say that I give the BEST massage in Pensacola. Hopefully, we all believe ours is the best, or at least strive to be. But, let's face it, sometimes a massage can be very disappointing. Maybe your pain, that you hoped to get rid of, doesn't get relieved, or else it comes right back. Or worse, you might even be in more pain after the massage than you started out with.
You don't have to worry about those things with me. You and I, together, custom-design and co-direct your massage because only YOU know what any touch FEELS like. My hands are sensitive, well-tuned instruments, and with my massage we will put your body back in harmony with itself.
I graduated in 2003 from Phoenix Therapeutic Massage College, an excellent training facility in Phoenix, AZ, one of the nation's leading resort vacation destinations. Like all massage students, I was taught a little bit about a lot of different methods of body work. Graduating therapists, if they have the stamina to actually be able to DO massage for a living, often take a variety of continuing-education classes, learning a little bit of each specialty. The result can be a hodge-podge combination of techniques that have little or no overall healing effect. Many merely continue to offer plain vanilla massages year after year. I too offer a sweet Relaxation Massage, if that's what you want. But some of us need PAIN RELIEF, and need it NOW!

Only YOU can determine the degree of pain you are in.
If you need the BEST in pain relief, you will appreciate MY massage. My specialty -- Trigger Point Therapy -- actually found me! Under the Trigger Point Therapy tab, you can read the story of my own personal experience with debilitating pain and how I discovered what Trigger Point Therapy actually is and why at the time it seemed to be the "miracle cure" I needed. Eventually this powerful pain treatment became the major focus of my massage therapy practice.
I come from a long line of back- and neck-pain sufferers. Unlike my other family members, I have always resisted the surgeries and painkillers readily offered (pushed?) by the medical community. I have tried to follow more of an earth-mother spiritual path, always seeking more back-to-nature solutions. During my early years, when I worked within the medical industry at Houston's Medical Center, I saw firsthand the dangers of a too-narrow focus on radical "remedies" rather than striving to prevent problems and learning to live healthy lives. I sought to learn how protect my own health through more natural means. Massage therapy, as both a patient and a practitioner, was a natural direction to develop my interest in health and preventive medicine.
Once I discovered the amazing truth about Trigger Points and their pain patterns, I found a way to easily get rid of my own pain naturally, on a regular basis. Because I have a personal stake in knowing how to treat pain naturally and effectively, I continually search for the most recent research and the most effective techniques.
Unfortunately, most of the medical profession knows next to nothing about Trigger Points. They are a relatively recent discovery, not even in medical textbooks until 1999. They don't show up on either x-rays or MRIs. The only way to actually see a Trigger Point is with a microscope. (I don't imagine many people will be signing up for that research! You want to cut my muscle open to look inside it? No thanks.) The very slight heat that a Trigger Point can give off can only be detected with extremely sensitive instruments. Otherwise, they can only be identified subjectively. If I push on one, it feels to you like I'm pressing on a bruise (when there's NOT a bruise or an injury). That's the basic diagnostic criteria. That and the referred pain that is most often misdiagnosed.

What would be the BEST massage for YOU?
MASSAGE IS MY FAVORITE THING ON THE PLANET!
Because I understand the value of receiving body work on a regular basis, I am in the habit of getting massages as often as possible, at least once a month. I have gone to hundreds of massage therapists throughout the United States, with a wide variety of techniques and skill levels. I always learn something from each therapist. Often it's something I really like and decide to incorporate into my own protocol. Other times it's something that I don't like and then I decide NOT to do the same thing to my clients.
Often, when asked if they can do Deep Tissue Massage, a therapist may say they know how to treat Trigger Points. Sometimes they do, IF they can find them, but unfortunately, many aren't sure how to locate most of them. (My own body has been my laboratory and has taught me!) My experience has been that most of the time many trigger points get missed. The result can be a frustrating experience, with pain simply returning very shortly. Or worse, when they do find a trigger point, many therapists often resort to an old, painful "ischemic pressure" technique -- very hard direct pressure that momemtarily stops the blood flow to the spot, while the patient takes several deep breaths. (Maybe to keep from screaming?) This method of treatment often hurts a great deal (too much for me!), sometimes leaves bruises, and can leave you, the patient, feeling sore all over like you've been "beat up." And maybe feeling a little "ripped off" and convinced that yet another treatment attempt has failed.
My massage technique is different. What sets me apart is my unique approach. I allow you, the patient, to direct the focus, as well as the intensity of my touch. I listen to my client to determine the precise "Right There!" spots. Then I make sure to never push too hard, but with pressure that is "Just Right" for you. I look for the "Hurts Good" level, and NEVER push until it hurts bad. Too much pressure and the pain will make the muscle involuntarily tighten to defend itself, and the whole purpose of the massage is defeated.
From my studies and experience, I've learned where TP's could have formed that are causing or contributing to your specific pain. (There are over 200 specific spots! See diagram on TPT pages.) Using a simple imaginary grid over your body, I do a very slow, thorough, systematic search for them. In doing so I can also find the TP's that are in a latent state, meaning that they aren't causing ANY problems at all, YET. But if left untreated, latent TP's become active TP's, and that means physical problems.
I always follow up the treatment of each TP spot with a lot of firm, smooth strokes over the area, ensuring that the toxins which are causing the pain to be adequately flushed out, and encouraging strong circulation throughout the whole area. While my massage is indeed therapy, you will end up also feeling totally relaxed.
And if you're one of the lucky people who have no pain, I can give you a TOTALLY RELAXING MASSAGE that is out of this world!
I love to help people and also to share what I have learned. So as a bonus, I am willing to teach you all you want to know about how to increase the benefits of a massage, as well as how to successfully de-stress and learn to reduce your pain with simple do-it-yourself techniques and readily available tools.
I offer group classes and private coaching in massage, as well as basic yoga and QiGong (energy work similar to TaiChi). Every few months, I also present an all-day workshop on how to "Overcome Anxiety a Natural Way," a Bible-based process of specific steps that can defuse anxiety and panic attacks, and quickly restore your peace of mind.
And if you have a massage therapist you think is better, tell me! I need pain-relieving massages, too!
